The Shinkansen is awesome but I'm guessing you haven't ridden it? It doesn't do 320 mph. That's most likely kilometers per hour which is around 200 mph.

We were just in Spain. Took train from Madrid to Granda to Seville then back to Madrid. Very cool and smooth ride. It works there but not in the uS

I just started traveling to NYC once a week - out of 5 trips 3 had significant delays. The trains and stations are old. Imagine what our country could be like if we invested in it 😩

The issue in the US is distance and because of that the costs. also it takes around 5 hours to fly from NY to LA. Train going 200mph would take at least 12 hours. that is if it didn't need to stop
