Real love is built on mercy. It’s when you give more than what is required. When you overlook instead of insisting. When you serve each other without keeping score. A husband gives beyond his obligation. A wife gives beyond hers. He supports her family, she supports his. Both go out of their way to make life easier for one another. That’s how love grows. Because محبت is not created by demanding, it’s created by giving. Allah describes marriage as: “…and He placed between you affection and mercy…” (Qur’an 30:21) Notice, mercy comes with love. Sometimes you give up your right to protect the relationship. Sometimes you stay patient when you could react. Sometimes you do more, simply for the sake of Allah. That is what turns a marriage from a contract into a source of tranquility.
