also, its SO SO SO important to have a flight plan that you tell atleast 2 people. my dad made me watch 127 Hours when I was a kid to show me what horrible stuff can happen if you dont communicate with people in your life. tell atleast 2 people where you will be, who you will be with, when you are leaving, and when you are planning to be back. example "im going to x trail, with Bob, Jim, and Kathy, leaving my house at 6AM, then we plan on being back by 5PM, 6 at the latest. if we are not back by 6, assume something is going wrong." its better to be safe than sorry !!

I will not stand for this blatant erasure of night owls and late risers. If you start late just bring a headlamp, a jacket, and some patience. The sunset is worth it.

I personally always carry a headlamp in my day pack. Just in case 😅 I've never had to use it, but it's there. I love early hikes. 🥰 but sometimes, you just get caught off guard. Plan plan plan!💞

i hiked the grand canyon on sunday (down to the river) it was 16 miles and we started at 7:00 am, we had good parking and plenty of hike time 😆

I have a thing called a “possibles bag” which is just a side carry bag that I take with me EVERY time I hike. I’ve got fire starter, a life straw, compass, and 3-4 other things needed for a survival situation. just in case something goes wrong. Always start early. You never know… BUT always be prepared
