my family started in the 50s. they were stuntman, after the stunts they would derby the cars that would still run and drive. I have a couple black and white photos of this. this was in north central and northeast Nebraska. I'm 4th generation, my sons are 5th generation

I did a paper on it in school and from what I could find it was it was somewhere between 1948 and 53 at Daytona after the race they ran a demo to kill the cars.
