I converted a small 30 can Titan cooler into a DIY AC that runs for 10hrs using frozen water bottles. Adding a 3lbs bag of ice from 7/11 extends the cooling time by another 8hrs, for a total of around 18hrs. The setup includes a mini turbo rechargeable usb fan, a small water pump running on a 63,200mAh power bank , a compact cooling radiator, and a PVC elbow to direct the airflow. There are plenty of helpful tutorials on YouTube if you want to build one yourself.

Just a note on ventilation, as you say its critical, but also considering where you are pulling the air from. you don't want to pull air from an area that is in direct sun. pull the air from a shady low spot. Maybe from the shade of the vehicle or trees/bushes and vend the hottest air from high in the vehicle outside.

I use rechargeable fans, those same window covers & similar moon roof cover, and when the heat is unbearable I wet a top sheet with water and use that to cover up.

Bamboo blankets- or any material made from cellulose (lyocell, rayon etc)- is perfect for hot weather, it breathes but doesn’t have the negative effects of sweating into cotton. I’d also recommend pajamas of the same kind of material. Signed, a hot sleeper

when you put the bug screen on the windows can you still put the reflective window covers so people can’t see inside? i live somewhere hot but i’d be worried about safety

I’m very susceptible to heat and i have a dog cooling pad and a cooling blanket that really help! Plus I have a yoga mat and love to set up my mat and cooling items in the shade next to my car to read, color or nap!
