This makes total sense to me (like in the upside down way that cult psychology makes ‘sense’). I think most of the general public accept that TC is a Scientologist, and they’re not all that curious to know too much more than that, bc there’s awareness that the affiliation isn’t a good look for him, and why would they want to ruin his movies for themselves. I feel like they prob have decided that it’s better if people in his industry in Hollywood, if they know he’s still a Scientologist, but they’re not actively thinking about it and being reminded of it, or they might think twice about the exposure and platform they give him, if they think he’s going to be promoting this, they’ll be forced to ask more questions of him, and Miscaviage knows that leads nowhere good for him
