the fact that people WANT to use one of these today amazes me. I grew up dirt poor and was so embarrassed and ashamed that we still had a wringer washer instead of a modern one for most of my childhood. I literally cried when my parents finally could afford a modern washer AND we got an actual dryer instead of a clothes line. just goes to show how differently we perceive things and their value in a relatively short period of time
