Athletic therapist here, often time the tfl is OVERACTIVE, it’s one of the main muscles that pull your pelvis anteriorly. With an anterior pelvic tilt, this is where hip impingement (pain at the front of your hip), runners knee, si joint dysfunction can occur. If your pelvis is always anteriorly tilted, this will “favour” the tfl as the prime mover for hip flexion instead of your psoas which is not something you want since it will perpetuate the problem of being anteriorly tilted. Psoas also helps to keep your femur back in the socket which is important esp if you have hip impingement. Please if you’re going to incorporate movements that target your tfl, make sure you balance that with proximal hamstring work (to help anchor your pelvis posteriorly)

I got bursitis from training TFL too much so be careful, it's reversible if it happens so it's not that bad and taking a break and foam rolling to make it less tight fixed it

There’s nothing wrong with hip dips, and she’s not saying there is, but hip problems do develop as we age and we should also know that we need muscle to support our bones, especially as we get older. Why shouldn’t we develop the muscle around our hips the same way we do our legs, arms, glutes etc. this video is going straight into my saves
