Originally, the post was meant as satire—mocking the stereotype of chronically online users neglecting real-life responsibilities. However, it soon evolved into a meme format, with others creating their own variations. As the meme went viral, many people became curious about Shirose herself, and false rumors even began circulating that she had died from hypothermia.
