I agree I feel like most other genres’ music feel kinda soulless. Definitely not all but I think especially pop defiantly feels soulless to me. I haven’t even lived through much struggle but I feel that the rawness of genres like rap make them so good.

Growing up, Two ✋🏻 people tried to convince me I was incorrect in saying “rhythm and blues” because they argued it stood for “rhythm and beat”. Complete disregard for the genre and its origins.

Rap and hip-hop glorifies the struggles glorify the things that are tearing us down punk rock on the other hand, which Black people started and gave as a gift to the white man has way more struggle and actually a way to cope with it instead of being a straight crash out punk rock is very uplifting and inspiring and they talk about struggle just like rappers do but in a positive light
