Easiest way to try and understand. Think of shoes. If an Xl is a size 7 in shoes then a 1X is a 7W in shoes. Both a 7 but one has special shape or width that the other doesn’t because one is a specific size not necessarily a bigger size

btw guys, the difference is that an XXL is essentially just a medium sized up or down while the 2XL is a different pattern made to fit plus sized bodies better

They basically stuck another size number in there to transition from the “straight size” to the “plus size” more fluidly.

I wish this was more common knowledge (and am thankful you are spreading the word!). Honestly it wouldve saved me a lot of tears in dressing rooms when i couldnt understand why i could fit a 2x at one store but not the xxl at another. Keep telling them👏🏻
