I don't have the insiders info she's claiming...but I doubt Trump has ever let anyone railroad him. The math seems to come down to timing...Weakening Iran and rolling back China's influence puts us in a much better position. We really didnt have the luxury to wait and let Iran and China enter into a formalized, strategic military alliance. I'm guessing Trump decided he'd regret waiting any longer, and Bebe was willing to go all in with the US on it. Bebe may have walked out of there thinking he was selling Trump but I bet that's what Trump let him think. It's fair to say everyone's intel was weak on Iran...We probably truested Bebe's but double checked across intel and our military intel...Likely there were several elements that could not be verified until we got in there and starting probing defenses. There's no poor decisionmaking here...just inperfect facts and an urgency to not miss the moment.
