I worked with 2-4 year olds for 4 years… no words. It is the most draining job. Mind you, I was cussed out almost daily.. 2-4 year olds!! 😭 Of course the parents responses were “they don’t do that at home so what’s going on in your class” 😩

My daughter is in a day treatment school and her behaviors are awful. I had to sue to even get her in that school and she hasn’t gotten better. I feel so bad every single day. They seem so fed up and exhausted

I heard from a friend who got burnt out that another reason that made things worse was that the administration wanted teacher to implement a new “positive reinforcement” policy so say no to a student was technically not allowed or disapproved of and made things sooo much harder on teachers

As a parent, what I said is what I said and you do not get to decide any differently. I remember when my son committed to a birthday party and then he got a way more fun birthday party to go to and wanted to go to that one the answer was no you already committed to this. Your word is your honor.

Yup it’s all about the parents but unfortunately they don’t want to hear it and it’s only going to get worse. Been teaching 28 years and I’m leaving the field next year. Good luck to all the new teachers try not to burn out
