@christies.creatur: The Telomian Dog is a rare and intelligent breed originating from the remote rainforests of Malaysia, named after the Telom River where it was first documented among the indigenous Orang Asli people. Uniquely adapted to life in elevated stilt houses, Telomians developed remarkable climbing abilities, even learning to ascend ladders - an unusual trait for dogs. They are agile, alert, and highly problem-solving, with a strong prey drive and an independent streak. Unlike most breeds, the Telomian has a distinctive vocalisation often described as a yodel-like or chattering bark rather than a typical canine bark. Females also have a more primitive reproductive cycle, typically coming into heat just once a year, similar to wild canids. 🐕 #dog #rarebreed #wildlife #malaysia #animals

FYI Telomian are close genetic cousins to the Australian Dingo and the Papua New Guinea Singing Dog. both of Which don't bark at all.
the genetic connection was from the land bridge from 10,000+ yrs ago, when the sea was lower due to ice age, that corrected Australia with S.E.Asia.
My Telomian didn't 1st bark until she was 2+yrs old and even now at 6yrs old very very rarely barks.
the pure Telomain also has a Blue tongue. mine had a fully blue tongue when she was a puppy until about 1yr old when she was fully grown. at which point the blue faded away and now only the front ¼ of her tongue and the back ⅓ of her tongue is still blue.
