@crmnallyobsessed: An American woman has disappeared in the Bahamas, and her family isn’t convinced it was an accident. The Royal Bahamas Police Force announced late Wednesday night, April 8, that they have arrested a 59-year-old American man in connection to Lynette Hooker's disappearance, but did not identify the man. Hooker, 55, vanished after her husband, Brian Hooker, said she fell off their small motorized dinghy on the way back to their sail boat during a nighttime storm near Elbow Cay. He claims strong currents swept her away after she entered the water holding the boat’s key, disabling the engine. Search efforts involving Bahamian authorities and the U.S. Coast Guard have since shifted into a recovery mission. But her daughter, Karli Aylesworth, says that story doesn’t add up. She describes her mother as an experienced boater who wouldn’t “just fall” and points to a troubled relationship, alleging past abuse, including threats that her husband would throw her overboard. She also cited inconsistencies in his account and a delayed report to authorities. The husband has not been charged and says he is “heartbroken,” while authorities continue to investigate what really happened at sea.
