@simonbeard_official: One of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make is trying to make every single dollar and leaving nothing on the table. I had to learn to control that carney in me. When Tahnee and I had our first store in Southport and our second in Brisbane we were still doing the markets on the Gold Coast every weekend. Finishing at nine, cashed up by ten, eating Macca’s at Springwood on the way home, in bed by midnight, up at 4:35 AM for the markets. That feeling waking up in the dark was horrible… One night driving back from Springwood Tahnee just said that is it. We are not doing the markets in the morning. But for me it was a couple of grand. I cannot just leave that on the table. Except in chasing that couple of grand I was destroying our brand. We were so much bigger than the markets now. And if we put that same effort into the stores and online the return was not even comparable. If you have got that carney skill to just find a way and make it happen, that is a superpower. Just know when to leave some money on the table to go after the way bigger prize.
