@tomgillbanks: Shedding again on hair loss treatment explained ⬇️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️: This content is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Prescription-only medications require consultation with a medical professional. So when using finasteride or dutasteride, perhaps alongside minoxidil, you tend to go through an initial shedding phase in which current hairs fall out. This is a good sign, as it means miniaturised hairs in the resting phase have fallen to make way for new healthy ones that will likely grow thicker and longer! Most guys are aware of this, but don’t know about synchronised sheds… These are extra shedding phases that occur later into treatment, due to the first shed making lots of hairs falling out and starting a new growing phase in sync with each other. This means when this growing phase is complete in the hair cycle, they are likely to also shed again at similar times. This timeframe varies individually. The positive is that each individual hair’s growing phase does tend to become longer, and more independent as time goes on while continuing treatment. This can be scary, as it may seem you’ve suddenly lost a ton of ground without changing your routine, but don’t panic. In the video above, I was around 2.5 years on treatment, and going through a 3rd synchronised shed. This wasn’t as bad as the first 2, but I noticed a decent loss of density diffusely, and in my corners. However, a few months later, it had recovered :) For more hair loss education drop me a follow 🤝 Sources 📖: Finasteride Study Group (2002): Finasteride 1 mg maintained or improved hair growth over 5 years in men with androgenetic alopecia. Are you seeing growth from the oral minoxidil yet? And if so, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how many months you have been on the treatment and what dosage you are taking.

What have you used for hair loss? Have you used 5% minoxidil together with dutasteride? Which shampoo do you use? Do you take any vitamin supplements? Could you please write everything you use for your hair?
