The adjustable clamp portion needs to have some sort of latch so it doesn't move. When my mini schnauzers walk on it, its slips somehow and the height adjusts so they are starting to just bypass it and jump

The problem is the bed situation. You would have to raise it up on too steep of an angle.

Okay I have to say, I just got two of these and most of what you are hearing is true but not all. My small dogs slip on this carpet. I had to put down rug grabbers so she’s not actually walking on the carpet. Be warned.
