Mind you the scene at Christmas is the first season Eddie was ever in, and the entire episode he spends it debating whether or not to let Shannon see Christopher. He vents to Buck about the situation and once he’s out of earshot Buck gets told him and Eddie have an adorable son. What else could that possibly mean in a storytelling context. If it’s on purpose it’s genius. If it’s not it’s lazy as hell.
