$500k home costs you $1.5mm over 30 years. Taxes and insurance will ALWAYS go up and it costs a small fortune to maintain or improve the house.

This is why we bought land,we are building our house by hand ourselves,we do our own electrical work,plumbing,all of it just me and my husband and thankfully my dad as he taught us how to do it as he built his also, we started with bare land,even now it’s way cheaper then buying a house,we only pay taxes on it,yes it goes up a little but still cheaper in my opinion,we own everything we have,it is crazy how a lot of places are wanting 2k when it’s not worth it,I hope you find something

I bought my home in a town of 7k for 85,000. 1946 home. I put 18 months and about 32k into it. Now I’m 32 and chilling. At least until I have to replace the AC unit or roof

I closed on my house for 175000 in NC. Just cosmetic things we can do ourselves. It was remodeled and it’s on .8 acres so decent amount of land. We moved 30 hours across country lol but if you really want a house you make it possible 💜
