I just saved and bought a fully loaded, safety inspected 2017 Kia Sorento. Paid for it in cash. $15,000. I make $32,000 a year. Took me a year to save, but I did it. Now I have a reliable car that I’m not making constant payments on.

need a car to get to work that's not going to break down and cost me thousands in repairs every year... pretty simple

Gone of the days where you can spend $3k on a car and drive it for 15 years. Dave needs to get real.

As anyone that has experienced the anxiety and stress of owning an old used vehicle can attest that often the intangible benefits of a buying a new one outweigh the financial burden, especially with a busy young family.

I looked at a used car vs a new car, the interest rate on the used car would have cost me more than the new car, so I bought a new car, reliable and has a warranty

Easy to say when cars in the 60s-80s were built to last. Modern vehicles just aren’t, but anything in the last 20 years second hand and you’re paying for it annually in repair and maintenance

Yeah. But if I have the cash to buy a car and instead of handing that cash over, I INVEST the $50k and take out a loan, I'll make more on my investments than I would pay in interest on the loan. Sooooo....

You only live ONCE, all my friends that save and invest their money live like crap, Im 45yr and own properties, several cars and toys, have 0 saved, but a lot of incomes. and I made less than my friends. I enjoy good cars, RVs, SXS etc while them have to wait 20 more yrs to retire and enjoy their savings 🙄.

So I’m supposed to buy a 10 year old car with cash and then dump $800 a month in repairs on a car that has 0 value. Great advice Dave, I’ll just ride a bike then

What’s truly disturbing isn’t a car payment BUT the Ins that goes along with the car note and that’s for as long as one drives
