My one pan Creamy Cajun Orzo with chicken sausage is a quick and easy recipe packed with flavor perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep! Recipe below: Ingredients: - 1 pack of Gilbert’s Andouille Chicken Sausage - 1 cup dry orzo - 2 bell peppers diced - 1/2 yellow onion diced - 2-3 cloves minced garlic - 1 tbsp tomato paste - 1 3/4 cups chicken bone broth - Splash of heavy cream - Seasonings to taste: salt, pepper, and @Weber Seasonings Cajun seasoning - 2-3 tbsp butter Recipe: - Cut up all your sausage links and veggies - To a large pan over medium heat add 1 tbsp of olive oil and your sausage. My sausage was precooked, so I just cooked it for 5-7 minutes until it developed a nice char and removed it. - Add in your butter to the same pan to melt, then add your veggies - Season veggies with salt and pepper to your liking and let cook for 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally until softened - Add in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant and stir into veggies. - Add in tomato paste, cooking down for 1-2 mins before mixing into veggies. - Season generously with Cajun seasoning and mix well before adding in orzo. - Stir in orzo before adding your chicken bone broth. Allow broth to come to a gentle boil and reduce heat to medium low. - Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo has absorbed most of the liquid. - Add a splash of heavy cream and season again lightly with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. - Kill heat and stir back in sausage and cook for 3-5 minutes to warm the sausage back up. - Scoop it into a bowl and enjoy, let’s feast! #easymeals #quickrecipes #homemadefood #mealprep #healthyfood
