I hate the fact that the straw hats never learn the true extent of what happened to Sanji in his childhood and also the anxiety and abuse he faced in the wci. The explosives on hands were never acknowledged. Ik that it’s turned out to be fake but Sanji didn’t know that till almost the end. The stress he felt was real. Also the “dungeon” and the “helmet” was never mentioned again. The way he still shivered and trembled when he saw Ichiji and Niji for the first time in like 13 years. Sanji never stopped being that little kid in the helmet since he never allowed himself to process and grieve what truly happened to him because Judge said those awful parting words when he “let” Sanji be free. Being with Zeff healed a part of him but most of him was still affected. Also Sanji was a very sensitive and kind child(the kindest) and he needed gentle parenting, the hugs and kisses and everything. Zeff obviously did what he could do best and he did a good job seeing how Sanji grew up. But growing up amongst pirate chefs who can be very vulgar and have misconceptions about “masculinity” forced Sanji to mature quickly in a different way. I still love Sanji tho. Every part of him
