@halimah_toh_gentle: Baba Sokoti, you call yourself a Muslim, yet you have never read the Qur’an and you do not observe ṣalāh. Islam is not by name or by talking in public; it is by obedience to Allah and following His commands. How can someone who ignores the Qur’an and abandons prayer speak about Islam or claim to represent it? A true Muslim is known by his submission to Allah, knowledge of the religion, and commitment to ṣalāh, which is the foundation of Islam. Before speaking about Islam, you should first learn it, read the Qur’an, and establish your prayers. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is the prayer; whoever abandons it has disbelieved.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Sunan Nasai, Musnad Ahmad)
