I know people think this is better because it's simple. it's really not. these engines required near constant adjustment to keep them running right. the ignition timing was pretty loose and you had to go fiddle with the mechanism or replace parts regularly. a modern car never needs timing adjustment. spark plugs on a model A might last as few thousand miles. on a modern car they last 100k.
on the model A you had a lever on the steering column to adjust the timing and if you got it wrong it could mean real problems.

how do those not let spark jump to ground and misfire but plug wires will fuck up and jo to ground 2 inches through insulation cuz it got a little to hot or dry

Yep. Our 1930 Model A had these. I chose to switch to wires, but I still have the brass tabs.
