if a company is recording record high profits, the employees should be reporting record high earnings.

Why wasn’t there a sprinkler system in a warehouse that size with paper products? Don’t make sense.

My husband works in a warehouse in Texas and yesterday morning he got a mass text from the company that effective immediately they were getting a $2 raise. This company only gives up to a .25 raise yearly. I think they got scared.

The CEO makes $18 million a year. The average worker makes around $40k, warehouse probably maxes out at $50k. That is a 450:1 CEO-to-worker ratio. The average house cost in Ontario is $600k. They would have to go to San Berdino to find a single-room rental for $1,400. Unfortunately, there are now another 100 co-workers or so who’s life just got a lot more difficult.

Fun fact, they did the math and Ebeneezer Scrooge was actually paying a living wage like in real life that would’ve been enough for the for the guy to live on and support his family historically speaking

With those kinds of profits, there's no excuse not to give raises. You have nothing without your workers.

I wonder who’s going to reimburse the insurance companies that have to pay for this? You know they have coverage product and loss of business.

The sad truth is that the products are likely insured to the company so the only thing that's happening is everyone lost their job except the people who have to oversee getting the warehouse back up and running and a higher price on whatever it was that they were responsible for selling

yup. record profits should only happen after or simultaneously with record employee salaries. everytime I hear "record profits" at a giant corporation that i know damn well doesn't pay enough for people to live, i just see an admission of willful exploitation of the workers who make those record profits possible.

It’s not just the wages but we are taxed to death. And social security is a ripoff. They pay a 250 dollar death benefit when you die. The rest stays in the system. It should be treated like a life insurance policy. The money we worked for they invest and keep it all including interest. Then give it away to other countries.
