I had a friend who I finally realized would constantly twist and turn the positive points in my life that I would talk about into problems that she would then push to “help fix”. Like she would try to pull on any shred of negativity in the situation that she could find, then turn that into the topic of conversation and start asking leading questions that were obviously made to make me start feeling or talking bad about myself and my life, then she would start with unasked for advice and trying to pressure me into letting her do things to “help out”. Like why did I start this conversation content with my life and now I’m just confused and upset and can’t quite put my finger on why?
