I fostered 7 kittens and my 3 year old cat took to one of them so we had to adopt her! Now they are good friends my older cat is so much more playful now! 🥰

I adopted two and arranged with the humane society to visit them for about a week. When I brought them home, they came right out of their carriers, were playing and eating!

i don’t have a hard line requirement for kittens to have a friend cuz i do make exceptions for certain kittens i think will do well on their own but most of the time they do need a buddy. it’s not the clinginess part it’s the crazy part😅 solo kittens are more likely to be bitey and scratchy and crazy so they’re more likely to be returned for those behaviors. once they’re older than ~6-8mo, having a friend doesn’t matter too much except for certain cats who’ve shown they need a cat friend to be happy

we just adopted two strays and so far things are going well. they're about the same age.. 5 weeks or so. So adorable and so sweet. I think its good for them to have a buddy

A lot of the time it’s not necessarily double to cost either i buy bigger cans of food and split them so it’s like 1 and a half. Same with toys they share a lot of toys and beds etc.. litter tho. That’s def double the cost 😂

i honestly am glad i got one. i’m going to be moving around a lot im young and in college and she grew up used to it just being us. another cat would be awesome, but for now she’s all i can have and she’s perfectly fine with it. my roommate had a cat who just recently moved out and my cat thankfully couldn’t care less even tho i was worried she’d be lonely. it’s all down to personality but it just goes to show one size doesn’t fit all

I adopted a stray baby and there’s no way I woulda been able to deal with 2. I say this as a lady who’s had 14 at once. Some cats need only 1 cat households. 2 cats is great, but it’s not a hard and fast rule. Also, if you’re thinking of adding a second cat to a house, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, learn how to introduce them correctly!!! Do not put them in a room and let them “work it out” that’s not how cats work, they are not dogs ❤️

I got one kitten because I was under the impression that she would be fine because I have two older cats, but it seems like that doesn’t really matter to her and now I’m really weighing the options of getting another kitten.

My baby was surrendered because her family got a new cat and she developed MAJOR behavior issues. She was struggling in the shelter because she disliked other cats so much. I got her home and she instantly relaxed. Always listen to your vet’s advice! My vet said i should never get another cat while i have her
