I think that in the past jax, ribbit, iaufmo, and ragatha were good friends. In my opinion, Ribbit was similar to Pomni, their personality resembled Jaxs, but unlike him, Ribbit didn’t want to stay in the circus and wanted to escape. In Episode 7, when Jax looks at the memory orb in Caines office, many fans think that its a memory of Jax, Ragatha, Ribbit, and Kaufmo. In that memory Ribbit tells Jax, “oh well,you said we’re both bestfriends” and Jax responds with, “you think i actually care about us?” just like he did to pomni in ep6. I think this conflict happened because Jax was too careless and emotionally distant, while Ribbit wanted to leave the circus. After this Ribbit abstracts, and Jax actually feels terrible about it, but he doesn’t show his emotions. Ragatha notices that something is wrong with him but doesn’t understand why he keeps acting the same teasing, unserious character, so she confronts him. This leads to a conflict between them.Ragatha realizes that this is not what jax needed at all so she tries to apologize, but Jax ignores her. This could explain why Ragatha says to Kinger at the end of ep 6 “i think i mightve failed pomni,just like i failed jax“ Jax acts the way he does toward pomni in el6 because he sees Ribbit in her. Since he already lost Ribbit, he doesn’t want to get attached to Pomni. In episode8, during Caines song when they see their nightmares(idk how to call it)Jax sees Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Pomni laughing at him. Hes afraid that they only sees his fake,crackhead side. Ragatha isnt there in this vision because Jax knows that she knows that he’s actually hurting

My guess is, Ragatha tried to befriend Jax, it was starting to work at first, but then Ribbit abstracted, and Jax emotionally shut down.

The way Jax thought Ragatha was trying to take advantage of him and Ragatha thought Jax was manipulating Pomni is crazy to me, like what the fuck happened between them? Why do they think of eachother this way? . I made a theory abt Ragatha already so I'm gonna theorize abt y Jax thought that abt Ragatha. We see when Gumigoo "died" Ragatha does tend to see some things from a positive point of view all the time, which is extremely unhealthy. She does this when Gumigoo died and she tried to comfort Pomni by being positive about the situation, but you can't be positive about everything, it's healthy to express hurt, to express pain, to express grief. My theory is that she tried to do the same with Jax when Ribbit abstracted and that's why Jax feels like she was trying to take advantage of him because "How could someone see this situation from any positive light?" and that's why Ragatha feels she failed Jax because she wasn't able to make him happy or "the same" from before Ribbit abstracted. She also wants to please absolutely everyone because of her generational trauma from her mother and the unrealistic expectations her mother probably forced onto her, making Ragatha think she has to go to the maximum about positivity. This is just a theory of mine, but she probably did this with her siblings as well. Espeically if she was the oldest because she would try to comfort her siblings by being positive about their situation. OMG I LOVEEEE THEORIZING SO MUCH

It has something to do with Ribbit I just can't prove it yet. Ragatha has something to do with Ribbit and is involved with their abstraction in a way I just can't prove it yet.
