East of Eden needs to be remade. I have not watched the 50s version, but with the cinematography that could happen and good talented cast...I'd go opening day.

East of Eden ruined low quality books forever for me, thank god. What a masterpiece. I read The Pearl by Steinbeck after that, then the Brothers Karamazov. That might be the only book to rival East of Eden.

ive been inside john steinbecks house! i live 30 mins away and drive past it everyday for school :') his books hit different when you've lived in the monterey county your whole life, its interesting reading his work– especially cannery row. its like reading about the lives of our neighbors that walked these streets before us.

I’m on the last book of the Lonesome Dove series; Comanche Moon. I was never interested in Westerns but these books are so well written and the characters are interesting that I can’t put the books down. I’m sad that I’m finishing the series!
