East of Eden is a big beast of a book. And yet I wish it was 10,000 pages longer

East of Eden ruined low quality books forever for me, thank god. What a masterpiece. I read The Pearl by Steinbeck after that, then the Brothers Karamazov. That might be the only book to rival East of Eden.

I hated My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Waste of time and bad ending.

East of Eden needs to be remade. I have not watched the 50s version, but with the cinematography that could happen and good talented cast...I'd go opening day.

I’m on the last book of the Lonesome Dove series; Comanche Moon. I was never interested in Westerns but these books are so well written and the characters are interesting that I can’t put the books down. I’m sad that I’m finishing the series!

ive been inside john steinbecks house! i live 30 mins away and drive past it everyday for school :') his books hit different when you've lived in the monterey county your whole life, its interesting reading his work– especially cannery row. its like reading about the lives of our neighbors that walked these streets before us.

East of Eden- probably the best book I have ever read. So much in each sentence. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

Deleted tik tok for a couple of months. I've just re downloaded it. One of the main reasons is your book reviews and book recommendations. Just so you know. Thank you. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Have you ever read I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb? That is truly one of the best books I've ever read and it really sticks with you. Read it!

My respect for you jumped up as soon as you mentioned My Year of Rest. It can be seen as cliche, but it genuinely can rip your heart and make you crave books to get that feeling again.
