Body positivity is still body obsession. It’s a step forward, but it still emphasizes women’s body. It asks you to take off your clothes to show you’re confident. We don’t ask men to do that. It’s not empowering. It’s just more images of women in underwear, more body sizes and more colors. Which is a step forward like I said, but it’s still women in underwear. It still teaches you your primary value is your body. That your confidence still comes from your body. That the comments you receive are about your body instead of being about who you are and about what you can do. Your body is still evaluated by other people and you still look like an object.
