Ugh, the grieving I’m doing. This show has meant so so much to me, created a great character out of the milkweed book Louis, amazing casting, lovely ensemble work, like Delainey alone, but Assad, Sam, all of them. And the cinematography and lighting and costume has been amazing. And then the first two episodes of season three. I’m struggling to remember how much I loved season two even. How could Rolin not love TVL the way he loved IWTV the way he carried that book with him everywhere. Now it’s so clear why Sam threw the script across the room and why he’s had these tiny comments in interviews. I can’t imagine what it’s like being IN the show as a book lover. I’m out. I’ll rage watch for the actors’ sakes but apart from that, I’m just so sad. Costumes are shit, wigs are shit, pacing is absolutely completely missing, all the characters from the book that were Lestat’s friends are now enemies or missing, and Lestat himself has been turned into a meek victim shadow of himself. ☹️☹️☹️
