@thegrieftable: Let’s talk about four truths about grief that every grieving heart deserves to know. Truth one: Grief does not follow a timeline. It does not move on, it moves with you. You do not “get over” the person you love. Grief can hit on anniversaries, holidays, or a random afternoon when a song plays or you smell their favorite meal. That is not going backwards, it is your love responding. Truth two: Grief lives in the body. Exhaustion, tightness in your chest, a pit in your stomach, brain fog, restlessness, or trouble sleeping are all ways your nervous system is trying to make sense of a world that no longer matches what it was wired for with them in it. Your body is not broken. It is telling the story of your loss. Truth three: Grief lives in the brain. Your mind keeps searching for their voice, their presence, their patterns. Feeling disoriented or forgetful, walking around in a haze, is your brain trying to update reality while still holding on to what was. That fog is a normal response to an unbearable change. Truth four: Your ongoing connection is not a problem to fix. That continuing bond, the way you talk to them, dream of them, keep their traditions, or feel them beside you, is not “being stuck.” It is love in a different form. Grief is not about closure. What helps us is connection, sharing our stories, saying their names, and sitting with people who know that love and loss now coexist. If you see yourself in any of these, you are not broken and you are not grieving wrong. Your grief is proof that your love was real. Tell me in the comments which truth you needed most today. #grief #grieftok #griefjourney #griefsupport #griefandloss #somaticgrief #continuingbonds #healing #MentalHealth

Thank you, Jamie. Yesterday was Sammy’s 26th birthday. I made it through. We honored them, we shared a lovely picnic… a quiet way to celebrate him. But today, it’s only 5am, but I’m already tired and drained. The guilt I feel on these days is heavy. People expect me to be “okay”. That “day” is over. So I should be okay. But ill

Thank you for your video. Your comments definitely resonate with me. I lost my wife and best friend of 35 years a little over a year ago so I totally get what you are saying.

Dallas( Houston here) I feel that same . So broken , so lost without my Mom (8+mis ago.) Depression , therapy i don’t even recognize myself . I slept jn 4 diff hospitals with her . Im the oldest;single parent in the Houston Barrio. We are all successful because of her. At her deathbed I told everything I have is because “of YOU” man it’s hard

I still tell my Mama goodnight every night. When I make a certain dish I think of her, I still cry. Trying to navigate helping an adult children with disabilities which includes Autism and deal with my own grief is overwhelming.

You explain grief the best way I have ever heard. It’s like my soul at its very deepest depth says yes, she gets it. You’re so right in every way you have explained it. You are for sure touching hurting souls and lives in such a positive and impactful way. Very grateful for your words of kindness and understanding. May all that is good follow you all of your days . Much respect 🙏🏻
