@aaron_doughty44: What was the emotional temperature in the household as a kid, because that’s what’s become normal for you as an adult You’ll find yourself recreating similar familiar dynamics over and over again So if you were normal as a childhood to feel that you were walking on eggshells or that you were in high tense experiences or needing to please mom and dad, you might find yourself in dynamics where that has been normalized And one of the things that can be very powerful to do is to recognize that, to simply recognize that pattern and then start to give yourself a litmus test to say... “even though this is normal to childhood, is this something I still choose to live in?” Is there a higher standard for myself to have? Can I only be in reciprocal relationships instead of non-reciprocal relationships that are not balanced?
I don’t remember. But based on how I act now, assume it wasn’t great

We need to reflect our past also and recognize as you say the patterns we‘re using originated in childhood. This we can discover what‘s really our desire and will to live our life. If we check out the underlaying emotions and thoughts of our daily actions we can select what‘s best for us 🥰💞

You have to heal your own inner child and parent yourself the way you needed. There is no such thing as normal for any human. That is a lie a system wants us to believe of course. But you have to stop focusing on the story of your childhood and focus on your needs. It’s like this, you can’t say “don’t think about apples” and stop thinking about apples - you have to think about it where you want to go. Like cutting or drawing - you look just above the point of the pen or knife so you can cut straight or cut the line you wanted. So my advice would be to stop focusing on those childhood stories and focus on what your heart and soul is asking you to heal in yourself right now. I often ask myself - what would I need right now if I was the child? Right now in the moment if I had a mom what would I need from her - then I do that. Focus on the goal - not where you came from ya?

This makes a lot of sense. Our childhood really affects us all the way to adulthood.

Maybe - but how does this apply to kids in foster care who had multiple parents but no connections? How does this work for those people? Is it a choice if they haven’t healed trauma? Or is it something that needs healed?

Constant daily drama created by my mother, she needed constant attention. It was mental. I like peace and order
