Thank you so much for posting this❤️I feel the 9-5 is really seen as your full identity.
When I was unemployed, people made me feel worthless, like I was a criminal. Yes, I was getting interviews, but it was one of the worst periods of my life.
When I decided to go freelance, I was heavily shamed, criticised, and judged. People looked down on me everytime. It still happens today,so I choose to stay silent about it, which is quite sad 😔.
I lost all my friends and ended up isolating myself, family made everything so much worse.
Luckily, I found online communities with Americans they are so motivating and supportive of one another. Even when job hunting in the US, the mindset is different. Even simply visiting a job site is seen as a small win. They celebrate each other for getting interviews, and the job hunting process doesn’t feel so soulcrushing. It makes every tiny step feel like progress.
