Matthew 17:21 is not in the earliest and best Greek manuscripts of Matthew. That is why in many modern translations, it is omitted or footnoted. A very similar line does appear in Mark 9:29, in the story of the demon-possessed boy.

Yes, I collect Bibles and have pretty much maybe 35 of them 45. I don’t know at this point but I do have one from 1875 and that’s in there but none of the other Bibles have prayer and fasting and Matthew except for king James, new king James, and amplified Bible, classic edition and there’s only one place to get the classic edition amplified Bible and that’s through Kenneth Copeland ministries and it’s a paperback and it’s 30 bucks for just a paperback which they’re five dollars everywhere else lol

It’s not about when a Bible was printed. It depends on which manuscripts were used, some include the verse, and some don’t. Also, scholars generally agree that the older the manuscript, the closer it is to the original text. Because the oldest manuscripts don’t include Matthew 17:21, most modern translations leave it out and consider it a later addition.

KJV is one of the only bibles that does not have the majority or all of the verses removed. Sure it might be hard to understand, but this version is one of the oldest compared to all of the newer translations.

older Bible relied on the oldest manuscripts like Vaticsnus. newer bibles used textus Recepticus which had it as footnotes

Do a little educating people. Different English translations are derived from different ancient texts. Some of them have it in it and some of them don’t. There are other verses that state similar ideas to Matthew 17:21. It goes back to PRE-English translations. 20 years ago I knew this info going to Bible college and learning about it. You can do the same today with Google.
