@dreii.jpg: The fall of Bataan on April 9, 1942, and the subsequent surrender of Corregidor a month later, marked one of the darkest yet most courageous chapters of World War II in the Pacific. After months of desperate resistance against overwhelming Japanese forces, thousands of starving and disease-stricken Filipino and American defenders were forced into the brutal Bataan Death March. Despite the tactical defeat, their tenacity delayed the enemy’s advance, providing the Allies with precious time to regroup and eventually reclaim the region. Today, we honor the unwavering spirit of those who endured unimaginable suffering for the sake of liberty. We remember the fallen not just for their sacrifice, but as eternal symbols of valor and hope. In commemoration of those brave souls in the final defense of the Philippines.
