I used a lawyer because i wanted to be confident I wasn’t wasting my money if issues popped up. If you’re starting a clothing brand you have to file in two classes as well, one for the products itself, not-negotiable if you’re selling apparel, and then the other if you’re providing a “retail service” aka selling branded clothing or e-commerce. I just got my NOA, but I don’t plan on launching for a few years so I went with the lawyer so they can file my extensions. Also, I’ve been told you to not trademark a specific mark/font, just file your name! My brand name is filed so

I literally wouldn’t start a business until I had a trademark for it first! While your trademark is pending get it into commerce. Even if it’s a sample for “sale” you’ll need it for a statement of use next!
