@underdog.automoti: “Why replace the whole knuckle??” Because I’m not trying to fight a rusted bearing for 3 hours in someone’s driveway 😭 Loaded knuckle = More money in parts 🤏 WAY less time + stress 💯 We’ll take that trade every time. (And yes… we did it on my brother’s car too 😂) 📲 underdogautomotive.net #mechaniclife #funnymechanic #wheelbearing #mobilemechanic #toyota
Rust belt mechanic here. Press ins are still super easy and there isn’t a lot of room for error. That being said I can see how it fits the mobile business model better to do the knuckle. That being said, bearings in the south must just fall out of the car.

If you are buying a loaded knuckle for $170, I don’t want that Amazon special on my car

to be fair I was using a press to change my 15 civic bearings and the knuckle snapped before the bearing came out so I had to replace the whole thing anyways

I never press in bearings. The spindle / hubs are so cheap now , it’s easier to change the whole thing

Doing the knuckle is easier. I live in Massachusetts and there’s no way that bearing is gonna come off 😂😂 ask me how many I’ve worked on!!

It makes sense, but.. Where are the loaded knuckles from? I’m curious how close the alignment is after with the after market knuckle.
