I want to speak carefully here, because words matter. When I talk about dysregulation, I’m not talking about intentional rebellion. I’m not talking about moral failure. And I’m not talking about condemnation. I’m talking about missing the mark. Biblically, sin means hamartia :missing the mark. That definition includes more than defiance. It includes immaturity, ignorance, and lack of training. … Dysregulation is when your nervous system reacts before wisdom has a chance to lead. That reaction is often unintentional. It’s rooted in adaptation , how your body learned to survive repeated experiences. So no dysregulation is not sin in the sense of you chose wrong. But it is sin in the sense that it misses the mark of maturity, stewardship, and self-governance. …. And here’s the part that matters: …. Unawareness is not condemnation. But remaining unaware once light is available becomes responsibility. … Scripture is clear that maturity involves training. Hebrews says the mature are those “who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. …. That’s not about trying harder. That’s about becoming aware and submitting yourself to training. ….. So when dysregulation shows up, it’s not proof that you’re bad. It’s information. ….. It shows you an area of identity that is currently untrained an area where the body is leading instead of wisdom. …. Grace covers ignorance. Discipleship addresses growth. … If this reframes sin, follow me. Comment “aware” if this helps you see yourself more clearly. And if you’re ready to start developing awareness intentionally, the 100-question download is where that work begins.
