No matter how poor we were I always had free things we could do, I always made sure I had gas to go on trips to spend quality time. It really created a bond and communication always flowed. Knowing when they want to vent or need advice. My daughter is almost 30 and thankfully everything went well through all the struggles that she said she didnt feel. We have a good relationship and I love that for us.

Intentionality!! I find my kids are SO much better behaved when we are structured and everything is intentional (not easy 😭)

I do therapy for me! And I take parenting classes with early intervention to help me make sure my sons stay regulated

Listening without thinking they wanted me to solve a problem, or give some profound insight or advice, instead they just wanted to feel seen and heard, and when they wanted more they let me know. Also always be available for hugs, and for as long as they need one, because nothing is more important in that moment.

Be intentional. In everything you do for them and with them! Speaking to them. All of it. They feel all of it.
