@deeniseglitz: The best affogato combo is pistachio gelato with coffee hot pour. Not every combo works well so do ask their staff for recommendations! The gelato actually tastes pretty good on its own without the hot pour. The butter tteok tastes quite alright but it doesn't have that crispy outer layer. Do note that this is a coffee stand with no seatings. It’s not good and I will share why. They tried to imitate the one in Florence (OG) and perhaps Seoul (which was inspired by the stall in Florence). First, the gelato is not cold enough. Compared to the Florence one which was icy, harder because they prepared it overnight in a coffee cup, covered with cling wrap, this felt softer and slushier. Didn’t help that upon contact with the hot espresso, it melts very fast. Second, the beans used was off. Granted, the beans are decent, but they should have used a strong nutty roasted kind instead of the citrusy floral flavour. It doesn’t go well with the gelato. And also, the espresso felt too diluted - almost like an iced americano level. This contrasted with the one in Florence & Seoul to a certain extent, which was bold, nutty and concentrated espresso. My verdict: not worth to spend your $10 on this. Try at your own risk.
