If you're new to my channel, this is definitely a recipe you need to try! Bouyiourdi – The Greek Way of Cheese Fondue! The word Bouyiourdi comes from Turkish and originally referred to a written order issued by an official, usually involving an unpleasant financial demand. During the years of Ottoman occupation in Greece, these orders were certainly not welcome! According to a popular story, a clever Greek restaurateur was inspired by this and decided to name the dish Bouyourdi, because the result is just as hot as an unexpected tax bill! Ingredients • 1 ripe tomato, chopped • 1 green pepper, sliced • 1 red pepper, sliced • 1 hot pepper, sliced • 4 oz (120 g) feta cheese • 3.5 oz (100 g) kasseri or gouda, cut into small pieces • Extra virgin olive oil, as your heart desires • 1 tsp dried oregano • Paprika, to taste • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste Instructions Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C). In a small ovenproof dish, layer half of the chopped tomato and sliced peppers. Place the feta cheese in the center and cover with the remaining vegetables. Drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil and season with oregano, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Scatter the kasseri (or gouda) over the top and finish with a sprinkle of paprika. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for approximately 30 minutes, until the vegetables are tender and the cheeses are beautifully melted and bubbling. Remove from the oven, gently mix everything together with a fork, and serve immediately while hot, with plenty of fresh, crusty bread for dipping! #bouyiourdi #greekcuisine🇬🇷 #GreekRecipes #alexandrashome #fypシ゚viral
