@pocket.psychologist: I’m a psychologist. 10 years of study. 60 seconds. Go. Anxiety isn’t weakness. It’s your nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do, just at the wrong time. Your body doesn’t know the difference between a lion and a difficult conversation. It responds the same way. That tight chest, racing heart, shallow breath? That’s not danger. That’s a threat response. And you can work with it. Breathe out longer than you breathe in. That’s not wellness fluff. That’s neuroscience. Your nervous system learns by experience, not by logic. You can’t think your way calm. You have to do calm. Anxiety lives in the future. Slow down. Come back to now. The goal isn’t to never feel anxious. It’s to stop being afraid of the feeling itself. Your nervous system isn’t broken. It’s been trained. And what’s been trained can be retrained. If you want to learn how to actually regulate your nervous system, not just talk about it, the link to my mini course is in my bio. Small changes. Big rewiring. 🧠
