If my page seems to move from dementia to autism to burnout to family dynamics, there is a reason. For 17 years, the population I have served has never fit neatly into one little box. I have cared for people with different needs, different abilities, different ways of communicating, and different ways of experiencing the world. Some are older adults. Some live with dementia. Some are autistic adults or adults with developmental disabilities. Some have mental-health needs. And behind many of them is a family or caregiver trying to understand what to do next. That is why you may hear me talk about dementia today and autism tomorrow. Another day I may talk about medication, behaviors, family dynamics, burnout, boundaries, dignity, assisted living, or how to reach someone who communicates differently. Those are not different subjects to me. They are different feathers of the same work. Seventeen years of caregiving taught me that caring for a person is rarely just feeding them, bathing them, giving medication, or getting them to an appointment. You are learning the person. You are watching for changes. You are communicating. You are adjusting. You are protecting dignity. And sometimes, while doing all of that, you are trying not to lose yourself. So when you come to my page, don't expect caregiving to look like only one thing. My caregiving population is broad because caregiving itself is broad. Many feathers. One pair of wings. Born to Serve. “follow me” Have a question drop it below i will answer 💜 “What does caregiving look like in your world?”
