Thing is they don’t. Median salary in the Uk for full time workers is 40k£ and in the us it’s about 46k£. Once you factor in the cost of living you’re actually better off in the UK

Per capita GDP is double the Uk , and we’re declining further still over time . So good effort, but we’re in a decline that your suggestions won’t fix. So is the EU. It’s a much bigger economy than the Uk too. the US create much bigger companies than the UK because their system is encouraging - ours isn’t .

Also there is employer NI of 15%, so we should probably allow for that in any comparison- eg picture a £100k salary as £117.6k before the employer NI is applied…

Truth is that UK doesn’t incentivise professional skills. UK companies lost their market after Brexit and US companies in UK just pay the market standards. Big Tech pay less than 1/3rd of what they would pay for the same role in US.

I think employers exploit the "We dont talk about money" culture in the UK. So there is less comparison and negotiation of salary
