I haven't done all the research yet but it appears my 2x great-grandparents, born in Pomerania, West Prussia (Poland near Gdansk) may have originated much further west as my DNA matches those living in the Hamburg-Bremen-Hanover area (Hamelin is 50km from Hanover).

Fun fact, he's called the pied piper because of his clothes. I can't post a picture for whatever reason, but pied clothes are the colorful medieval clothes where they have a slits in them that look like the slits you put in a pie to help it cool.
