We have a Tesla Model Y and a BYD Seal. They are brilliant cars. I won’t go back to ICE for a daily. I had a top spec BMW330d and I can honestly say the BYD seal is a nicer car. Ridiculously quick, comfortable and unbelievably cheap to run.

The best approach to take is to understand that those who complain about EVs have never driven or owned one. Those that own and drive EVs generally never turn back.

Hav an EV after 34 ICE cars in last 39yrs. I am saving exactly €500 pm on fuel/tax/servicing. Drove high performance cars for last 34 yrs so bought a 3yr old high perf EV very cheaply tho not much cheaper than the equivalent 3yr old petrol/diesel. STILL saving massively with full 2yr Audi warranty. Range is about 325km in dark and cold winter weather with over 400km now in better weather. I gave out about EVs for yrs....I was wrong!! Depreciation is in ALL cars...I know having bought 35 in 39 yrs....new and used...petrol and diesel. Some depreciate more than others and EVs are not alone and NOT much worse unless u buy an oddball make. OVERALL they have a better drive, spec and the ease of home charging is a doddle over ICE...charging 11pm until 8am at low kw prices. I use 600 to 700kw per month that gives me 3.5kms for 1 kw average overall. My last 4 petrols overall did 50kms for €10 of fuel BEFORE ANY other costs so 3.5kms cost me approx 70c. In comparison my EV costs 13.54c for 1kw = 3.5kms. So, IF I CHARGE AT HOME it costs me approx 20% of what I did pay. In 23 weeks of ownership I have charged in filling stations x 4 with ESB fast chargers at 66c per KW. That is close to petrol costs but only accounted for about 5% of the kms done in those 23 weeks. So....that small extra cost is easily negated by the €120 per yr tax vs €1250 on my petrol plus the minimalist 30k km service interval vs the 15k kms on my petrol and it was costly to service/maintain just normally. I miss the petrol sound and MAYBE the range possibilities (no shortage of chargers out there for me so far) but this EV looks and drives better so its well worth the MASSIVE MASSIVE savings.

I like you was very weary of going electric but hand on heart best decision I ever made.v14 euro gets me ten days of driving. They are also lovely to drive with crazy HP.

I don't have a Closed mind, so would consider in the future, however I do a lot of towing and diesel is the only one in town for this.

Think about this: the only ones that say EVs are bad, are the ones that never owned one. That should tell something. Good opinions can only come from people with experience, so you know to whom to ask 😁

8 years driving full EVs and would never go back. Only works with home or nearby charging though

we have EV car firstly mileage anxiety now the government is going to charge pay per mile & road tax we charge at home only as we are retired & we don’t do that many miles but the depreciation is an issue which worse than petrol/ diesel cars.

Yes got a Kia ev6 in 221. In my second one now . Would never go back. If you’re doing it make sure you get a good range . And chat people who have one. They are great

I believe that electric vehicles were tanking and so many were being returned, my believe is government are hicking prices so much to get the mass thinking about the electric vehicles would actually help

Love our EV. Great for the run around. Nifty on the narrow back roads. Charge it overnight on the solar panels. Saves me a fortune in fuel bills. So good not to be reliant on petrol or diesal

I used to have a Diesel Passat - the turbo broke so I thought I’d go for a Kia E Niro - I love driving it - unlike the Passat - the technology is a lot better, and it will last a lot longer.
