Glossy Chinese Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs 🍖✨ Sweet, tangy, sticky and seriously addictive—once you start eating these ribs, you won’t want to stop! Ingredients: • 1 kg pork ribs • 2 tbsp cooking wine • 2 tbsp soy sauce • 3 tbsp Chinese black vinegar • 50 g rock sugar or ¼ cup white sugar • 4–5 slices ginger • 2 bay leaves • 2 star anise • 1 tbsp Chinese black vinegar, added at the end • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds • Hot water, as needed • Cooking oil Method: Blanch the ribs in boiling water and remove any foam and impurities. Drain well. Heat a little oil in a wok and sear the ribs until lightly golden, then pour out the excess oil. Add enough hot water to just cover the ribs. Add the ginger, bay leaves, star anise, cooking wine, soy sauce, three tablespoons of Chinese black vinegar and the rock sugar. Balsamic vinegar also works if you don’t have Chinese black vinegar. Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, or around 40 minutes for larger ribs. Remove the aromatics, then reduce the sauce over medium heat until thick, sticky and glossy. Stir in one final tablespoon of vinegar to brighten the flavour. Finish with toasted sesame seeds and serve. #SweetAndSourRibs #ChineseFood #PorkRibs #EasyRecipes #homecooking
