I think you always want the best for your children, and at the ages they are currently, they will not care whether they are in a 2 bed flat or a 12 bed mansion. The sacrifices you make now, will pay off in the long run. Future you will be proud of the decisions you made x

people seem to forget that big families were living in small 2/3 bedroom houses only 40/50 years ago. it's great if every child can have their own room but it's not an necessity. we've a small 3 bedroom house with 2 young kids (3 &5) the kids are currently in the same room but when older they'll have their own room. we hope to build an extension in the next few years too. we are in a great neighbourhood with great neighbours and it's so safe I don't want to leave.

I live on guernsey and our prices here are prob equivalent to London. 1 bed flat is 300K to rent a 1 bed is approx £1800 I need 3 bed house and to rent I’m looking at £2500-£3k + a month. I don’t even earn that much. I rent from my mum and she wants me to pay what I don’t earn. I’m forced to save what I can and look elsewhere to live off island

Wow I live right across the road from the sea my front overlooks the beach and it only cost £350k for a 4 bedroomed house, 3 bathrooms, three reception rooms, kitchen/diner, double garage, conservatory and upper balcony with sea view

We’ve just bought a house around 15 min drive/less than 10 mins on the train to Brighton as it is cheaper (though it’s the South East so still not cheap compared to Scotland 🤣) and we’re surrounded by countryside. I love going to Brighton and my husband has family in Hove. It must be lovely to live by the sea 🥰 I’m Scottish and my husband is English, sometimes I look at houses in Scotland and I’m like omg we could get a mansion for the price of our place 😅
